TAG/MV Property Tax Refund

When a vehicle is sold and not replaced, you may be eligible for a pro-rated tax and/or tag refund. Application should be made in the Motor Vehicle Department from Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.  This should be done prior to the last working day of the month the vehicle was sold to maximize the refund.  Your TAG, Social Security number, Registration and Refund Form are required to get a refund.  If you fail to bring your registration, you will be charged $1.00 for a duplicate. Download the Kansas Vehicle Registration/Tax Refund Form here.
